This one will introduce you to what B&D refer to as their “Matrix” system.

Detailed Review of the BDCDMT120
Key Features and Specifications
The Black & Decker BDCDMT120 is a drill and driver that features the Matrix Quick Connect System. In essence this drill as it stands on its own is a very good and high quality product.
By adding the principle of the Matrix system, then you have the possibility of adding the different heads, and creating a number of tools.
If you own this product, then those options become available to you. I have placed a short video below that better explains this system which is worth a quick watch.
Size, Weight & Power
It has dimensions of 12.5 (L) x 3.6 (W) x 9.5 (H) inches, and weighs about 4.3 pounds. The drill is powered by a 20-volt lithium-ion battery than can store charge for up to 18 months. With full charge, the drill has a maximum speed of 800 RPM (rotations per minute).
It features 10 clutch settings that can be changed and locked in place through a rotating dial. You can use these different positions to stop the drill from slipping off screw heads and damaging the surface below.
It comes with a keyless 3/8 inch chuck that accommodates and secures various bits and attachments into the drill’s head/housing.
The Black & Decker drill comes with 2 year limited warranty against workmanship or/and material defect.
Some of the attachments that fit in the drill housing include Detail Sander, Router, Impact driver, Jig Saw, Trim Saw, and Oscillating Multi-tool.
The six components are sold separately. They do NOT come as part of this product.
The BDCDMT120 is a drill, a driver, a sander, a cutter, and more making it handy in many areas.
It comes with reverse rotation that allows the drill bit to turn anticlockwise thereby unscrewing or removing screws.
The cordless drill is suitable for open and tight spaces and can be used on metal, wood, and plastic.
Lightweight and Portable
The Black & Decker BDCDMT120 20-Volt MAX Lithium-Ion Matrix Cordless Drill has a weight of about 4.3lbs making it among the lightest cordless drills in its category. It is quite portable and easy to use even for many hours non-stop.
Compact and Versatile
It comes in a compact and user-friendly design that greatly improves handling and convenience. The drill can be used together with six other attachments making it ideal as a drill, driver, sander, saw, router and more.
Sturdy and Durable
It is manufactured from heavy-duty plastic, metal and rubber and can withstand constant falls and daily usage. The drill delivers a maximum of 800RPM which is adequate for most applications in the home or workshop. The Black & Decker drill features a leak proof battery that can keep charge for up to 18 months.
The Black & Decker BDCDMT120 features an ergonomic design and is covered with a user-friendly material on the handle. Using the drill for intensive work or continuously will not cause fatigue or aching fingers and hands.
Effective and Highly Adaptive
The Matrix Quick Connect System allows a user to switch from one function to another with minimal ease. You don’t need to use a special tool or go through a lengthy process to convert/ turn the drill into a sander, driver, or cutter.
Long Recharge Time
The cordless electric drill takes quite some time to get the charge back in full. An almost empty battery requires at least 5 hours to be fully charged. For a frequent user or a professional this would mean investing in an extra/spare battery.
Batteries Drains without Warning
The Black & Decker BDCDMT120 20-volt cordless drill doesn’t come with a warning or charge indicator to alert a user on battery usage. It just stops when the charge gets too low and can be quite inconveniencing if it happens in-between a project.

According to all the buyer reviews that we read there is little doubt as to the quality off this cordless drill. It is an interesting thing for B&D to have done and overall it gets great reviews.
76% if buyers gave this model 5 star reviews and are clearly very satisfied with their purchase. Only 3% wrote bad reviews for this product so that should tell you there is not that much to worry about. The main complaints were about the battery discharging quickly in the first couple of weeks. Most did send it back and got a replacement.
One reviewer said this:
The Matrix system is not a sales gimmick, it is truly flexible. I bought the router attachment for fun and for 35 bucks I couldn’t lose . Since then I bought the cut off saw and the jig saw attachments.

The only drawback is the long 5-8 hour battery recharge time. You will be miserable if you don’t get an extra one at least.
And another said this
Bought one a few weeks ago and have used here and there for a few small home projects. It works pretty well, it looks pretty nice too.
