Full Review

If you are someone who is looking for a tough jigsaw, and one that will be required to do a lot of horse work, then I think this one could be of interest to you.

Bostitch was not a brand I was that familiar with, but it is now becoming popular with many buyers.

Quality

This saw looks and more importantly feels really good in your hands. It is well constructed and very well made.

The cheaper saws feel light, and poorly made, but when you have this model in your hands, you know that it is just plain old simple good quality.

I would class this one as a heavy duty saw.

Blades

If you have ever got really wound up changing blades in other saws then you will find this one a joy. It takes t-shank blades and they are quick to change.

Quick Adjust Mitre

This is a Godsend and should come with every jigsaw. The base plate moves very easily for those angled cuts. When you do move it it also locks firmly into place.

Variable Speed

Many jigsaws use the trigger to adjust the speed. Personally I do not like this as I have always found it to be difficult to control and you never really know what speed you are running at. This one comes with a dial that is easy to set. What I do like about the trigger on this one is that it has a lock facility, which is handy for those longer cuts.

One buyer said this:

Adjustable speed from slow all the way up to holy crap. This saw is not lacking power!

LED Worklight

This helps light up the area that you are sawing and makes it a heck of a lot easier to see. Many of the other branded jigsaws have LED lights, but they are badly placed. This one will actually help you and not cast any shadows over your work.

Overall Assessment

This one delivers a very straight vertical cut so no need to worry about bowing. The kit comes with a good quality plastic storage box and it can take t-blades and u-blades. For the price tag, I think this is a very good jigsaw and a good work horse.

It is well made and lots of power. The rubber grips make this feel safe to use. Also when you use it, the front end of the saw does not intrude onto the working space. That is, you can actually see what you are cutting. I did notice, and one reviewer pointed out that, the cutting stroke is shorter than the other brands. Most of those use a 1″ stroke and this one is around 13/16″ so slightly shorter.

This one is for people who work in the construction industry and just want a hard working saw that can get things done. As a woodworker myself, this would not be the one that I would choose. I would need more features and more options. That said few people need those, so this one is fine for projects around the home.
