Makita XT322 Review 2017 Power Combo Kit
Welcome to my review of the Makita XT322, one of the newest cordless power tool Combo kits from this great value brand. Makita certainly do offer you a lot for your money, and in this combination you get:
- 1/2″ Hammer Drill
- An Impact Driver
- A reciprocating saw
- Battery Charger
- Carrying Case
Many of the Power combo kits come with these three power tools as all of them are of great benefit around the house, or as tools of the trade. What makes this one a potential choice for you is the fact that Makita offer a 3-year warranty on the tools , and that should give you peace of mind. Please note the batteries and chargers have only a 1-year warranty, as is standard with many of these tool manufacturers.
There are not many reviews for this product, but those that exist rate this to be a 5 out of 5 star product, and it is hard to argue with that type of rating. My opinion is that for around a $300 price tag, I would expect that type of rating.
Main Features of The Makita XT322
The principle behind all of these power tool combinations is that they give you a number of tools along with a battery and a charger. You can then use that battery in each of the tools, as it is interchangeable.
Typically, they also give you some type of carrying bag or a case. The Makita XT322 is similar. So to work out if you are getting value for money, you need to look at the quality of the tools that you are getting.
This is a 2-speed drill which can deliver about 450 pounds of torque and that is pretty powerful. It measures 8 and 1/8″ long and weighs in at 4 pounds. That means you should be able to handle this drill with some ease without it being sore on the arms.
It has an LED light to help you see what you are drilling which is always handy. I personally like the fact that it has an all metal gear transmission as that simply means it will last a great deal longer. This drill will be able to tackle a really good variety of jobs, and certainly almost all jobs around the home.
This good little driver punches out about 1,330 pounds of torque and that is plenty enough for most jobs. It measures just under 6″ long so small and agile enough for work in most confined spaces.
These impact drivers all need to have a variable speed, and this one can go from 0-2,300 rpm. It has a 1/4″ Hex chuck which makes changing bits quick. Makita have really done a good job on the handle grip on this one and it fits your hand really well, and it feels powerful.
I liked this impact driver a lot when I used it. It also has an LED light which is great especially if you are working on cars.
This saw looks good and with a stroke speed of up to 2,900 every minute appears to be fast. It has a length stroke of 1 and 1/8″ and it is simple enough to change blades. This is an OK saw and will do any small job pretty quickly.
Other Features You Should Know About
That said this one lasts a long time and the quick charger does a really good job. It is a lithium-Ion battery so they do charge pretty quickly, and typically in about half an hour. Some reviewers at Amazon have stated they received two batteries which is good.
You also get a pretty neat looking contractor bag and a manual.
