BY ENDA MCLARNON
Buyers do like and trust the Bosch brand, and at the end of the day, they do make very good tools.
In this article I will do a detailed review on this model so as you can decide if this is the one for you.
There are a couple of hundred online buyer reviews on this one, and it has a high overall average buyer satisfaction rating of 90% so it is most certainly worth looking at, if you are in the market for a high quality random orbital sander.
Random Orbital Sander
Average Retail Price:
A very popular choice for many buyers and of course for those who like the Bosch brand. This is a 3.3 Amp 6" sander that removes wood fast and can also be used as a finishing sander.
Key Features of the 3727DEVS Model
- It has a powerful 3.3-amp random orbit motor
- Also has variable speed control
- Operates at 4,500-12,000 rpm
- Comes with a pad wrench, soft backing pad, sanding disc, micro-filter dust
- It is about 12" long and weighs 5.2 pounds
- It has a 1-year manufacturer's warranty
So those are the important specifications and in summary this is a well made product, with a die-cast aluminium housing and a dual bearing mount pad for better smoothness in operation.
Who Would Buy This 3727 Model?
If you are someone looking for a good all round random orbital sander, then this would be a very astute purchase. This one works really well across the whole range of both sanding and polishing tasks. It can remove stock quickly and can also be used for those finer finishes.
We all know that sanding is a pretty boring task. That said it has to be done and this one takes most of the pain out of finishing the job.
One word of recommendation is to make sure it is attached to a vacuum removal system. That applies to any sander really, but as this one removes stock quickly, then it is seven more important.
Those of you who use a sander mainly for working on furniture, will appreciate that a 6" pad size will make you life a lot easier. The bigger pad size helps keep the sander flat.
You will pay a little extra for the 6", but for furniture makers, this is a good investment.
If you have worked in body shops then having the hook and loop sanding disks is just a great deal better than the mess of using spray adhesives or glues.
The hook and loop is mess free and super simple to use.
Versatile, Powerful and Easy To Use
It does take a bit of time to learn how to use these types of sander. Always have a practise on an old piece of wood first until you get the technique right. Once you have a few tries, you will be surprised how easy this useful tool is to use.
“Many furniture makers or carpenters will already have a vacuum system installed. This tool is easy to hook up to a 1 1/4 hose with the appropriate Bosch adapter. The self-contained filter comes right off to expose the suction port for the vacuum system. ”
This is an ideal choice if you are looking for speed and also for a smooth swirl free finish. The dust canister also helps make this one of the cleaner sanders to use. If like me you don't want to spend time doing a big clean up after sanding, then this canister collector works pretty well.
It is easy to buy the accessories for this sander. You can get backing pads, polishing bonnets and discs, sanding discs for paint and also sanding discs for wood.

I have used this one myself on a few jobs as a friend of mine owns this one. He is a bit of a Bosch fanatic, but that aside, when I used it, the end result was very good indeed.
